Bridget Everett and The Tender Moments (Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater)
I’ve been hearing the buzz about Bridget Everett for a while, but it was only recently that my friend Elizabeth and I experienced the full-frontal, uncensored, Mr. Toad’s wild ride that is a Bridget Everett and The Tender Moments show. She spews wine, words and wisdom while changing from one revealing outfit to the next on the stage. Bridget Everett is not for the faint of heart, but man, what a talent.
Joe’s Pub is well known for fearlessness when it comes to booking talent and Ms. Everett may be one of the smartest and bravest choices a venue can make.
One part autobiographical rant, one part cabaret show and one part alcohol fueled fury result in an alchemy in which Ms. Everett’s immense talent (and a fair amount of her flesh) are on full, raw display.
If you get the chance and you are not easily (or not so easily) offended, go see Bridget Everett. Just don’t sit in the first few rows…….
